Christmas Picks 2022

This is not your average gift guide.

The three of us have chosen items that we already own along with some products that are high on our Christmas list this season. Many of these selections come from companies we love and have been following for years.

I have been a huge fan of Sota Clothing for quite a few years now, and I own multiple pieces from them. This hat is one of my favorites! I received the green version of this hat last year, and it is fabulous. It’s warm and cozy, while being simple and stylish.

Smore’s is one of my favorite desserts, and this indoor fireplace allows our family to enjoy it year round. This beautiful and functional item, created by FLÎKR Fire, has a cement base and uses isopropyl rubbing alcohol to create it’s clean flame.

HUGE candle lovers over here! We are constantly trying out new candle companies and new scents for our home, but this company is on our repeat list. Craft + Foster is a small business we met while vending at an event in Illinois, and they create the most amazing scents. The Leather & Teak candle is our favorite so far!

Because of our love of candles, we have learned about the proper way to take care of the candles that we enjoy. This candle care set from Life in Lilac is one of the prettiest I've seen. You don’t want to hide this set in a drawer! The three care items come with a gold tray to give an aesthetically pleasing display and to keep them close at hand.

After years of wearing cheap gloves and always complaining about having cold hands, Joe bought me a pair of Hestra gloves, and wow! What a change! These leather gloves have a soft lining that keeps my hands warm and the cold air out. The Hestra company is over 80 years old and their emphasis on quality has not changed.

Glerups are simply where it’s at. I literally wear mine everyday, year round. Since these slippers are made out of 100% wool felt, they are temperature regulating which means they’re perfect for the coldest nights and warmest evenings in the studio. Glerups are described on their website as “a Danish luxury slipper,” and I’d have to agree.

I’ve tried a lot of beard oils in the past few years, but I always come back to the Beard Baron. John (owner) is incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to beard care and is an all-around good guy.

If you want your man to have a healthy, good smelling beard, give him the gift of Beard Baron. Some of my favorite scents include: Imperial, Huntsman, Solstice, and Maharaja. (Bri’s favorite is Maharaja.)

Full disclosure: I don’t own a pair of Taft boots yet, but I’ve worn my brother’s. (Sshh, don’t tell him.) There are three reasons why I love them: Style, quality, and story. I’d encourage you to visit their site to get acquainted with their products and their history.

This one is very special to me because these beautiful hats are made by our friends Nick and Leanne. Their hats are made from 100% rabbit fur pelt. I appreciate the attention to details all the way down to the leather corded hat band. My favorite detail of my hat is the addition of a vintage liner. Its going to go perfectly with my Taft boots.

The Chemex is a tried and true way to brew your best beans. It’s a slower process, which allows me to enjoy the ritual of making coffee. Chemex filters provide a cleaner cup which, in turn, really brings out those notes in the bean. This is hands down my favorite way to brew coffee.

Before I started seeing Kinto travel mugs for sale in boutiques and coffee shops, I noticed this brand in a local lifestyle and design shop.

I loved that it wasn’t a yeti and it didn’t look like everyone else’s. It had a clean design and I was sold. Now I see them everywhere. From my experience it keeps my coffee hot and looks good doing it.

Ummm…… Is this not stinking cute or what? I was worried when we bought this for Emory’s birthday that it was more because I thought it was cute than it was for him, but he LOVES it! He plays with it constantly and loves to brew up a cup of coffee (or “fah-gee” as he calls it) for any guests that come over. Also, that fact that it has shelves for storage is a big win for me!

We are adding this book to the list because it’s one of Emory’s absolute faves. It’s the best when he points at it and says “Appleseed!” with that big smile. We support his choice because we want him to learn those classic folk tales, and it’s also kind of aesthetically pleasing.

Oh for cute! This rocking moose is such a cute Minnesotan twist on the traditional rocking horse. Its striking red color adds the perfect Scandinavian element to his Paul Bunyan bedroom, and he has gotten tons of use out of it!

Every kid needs a set of blocks to help them build and be creative. This block set resembles a little city complete with shops, hotels, a restaurant, and (of course) a coffee shop. This a fun project for the whole family, but we all know Emory’s favorite part is knocking it all down!

Once again we have a hat from Sota Clothing. We love how unique it is with that pointy top. it actually reminds us of the kids book “The Snowy Day”. We have a lot of love for our snowy state, so seeing him sporting a little state pride kind of melts our hearts.

We love finding companies that have a beautiful aesthetic and we had a lot of fun picking a few quality pieces to share with you. It was important to us that we could speak out of experience on almost all of these. Take some time to look at these products and others that these companies offer. We hope you enjoy some of our selections, and maybe they’ll wind up on your Christmas list too. What a shame.
